A couple blogs that I read have done a year-end summary of favorite / most visited posts of the last year. As one of my major goals for 2009 (“resolution” seems so binding) is to keep on blogging, this seems like a good tradition to start.
The top posts for 2008 were:
1. No more traffic in Dhaka? Is it possible? – This one got a link from the BBC “Learning English” series when then did a story on Dhaka traffic. Thanks BBC!
2. My “About” page. This changed about halfway through the year to become more anonymous, and I’m still not thrilled with it. We’ll consider this an area for growth, and see where this page goes in the future.
3. Bangladesh and the New 7 Wonders of Nature
4. Yes, you should definitely not drink the water – It’s a little disturbing, but people seem to Google “drinking water and bleach” on a pretty regular basis. I don’t think my blog is what they’re looking for, but hey, maybe it is.

Picking out my own favorites from 2008 is really a challenge! Mostly I like the ones with pretty pictures, which makes me think I should give up writing all together. Hmm. That wasn’t the goal of this exercise. Anyways, here’s what I come up with:
Lungi – Apologies to my husband, but this one just really makes me laugh.
Yes, you should definitely not drink the water – It’s weird how people come across this, but I do find this post entertaining.
Life Story of a Brick – I guess because they’re everywhere here.
You too Bangla can talk – Ah, yes, Bangla class was miserable.
And a few in the “pretty picture” category:
Thanks for stopping by in 2008, and hope you’ll stick around for more to come. Best wishes for a bright future.
