Stop by and see my new Dhaka Daily Photo blog: http://dhakadailyphoto.wordpress.com! Life here is super hectic, so I’m not sure the “daily” part will always be possible, but I’ll do my best to post as much as I can. Also, there will inevitably be overlap between the two blogs, as a girl can only take [...]

Some city pics
Posted in Bangladesh, Dhaka, People, Shopping, Urban scenes on August 30, 2008 | 1 Comment »
Today we took another city tour, this time a walking tour that focused on historical buildings in downtown Dhaka. The idea was to see old buildings like this one that are neglected and / or in danger of being torn down and replaced by new construction.
The tour was great – it was great to get [...]

We flew down to the [...]
A good sign

This might be my favorite sign in Bangladesh. It’s all over the place in Dhaka.
I like it for three reasons: First, the bugs, being three feet tall, are approximately life-size. (OK, not really, but there are large bugs here. See here if you don’t believe me.) Second, I am all in [...]
Dhaka from above

Last week you saw some pics of rural Bangladesh from above – this week we have a few views of Dhaka. These were taken from the top of the Westin Hotel. The area shown here is sort of the northern suburbs of Dhaka; it doesn’t really show downtown or “Old Dhaka”.
The red building [...]
