Today we did a Dhaka City Tour, which was nice because during the week we almost never leave the “diplomatic enclave,” three posh suburbs where all the diplomats live and where the Embassies are. The tour took us downtown to Old Dhaka and some of the historic sites there. A couple pics:
The Pink Palace is, as you might expect, pink.

And here is an old mosque called “Star Mosque.” As you might expect, it has a star.

The National Parliament Building:

The riverfront, where ferries leave for cities all over the country, is total chaos:

Last but not least, M and I at the Red Fort, a Mughal fortress built in the 1600s:

Hi, I’m Sajib. I am sixteen years of age and am a school student living in Dhaka. I’m glad that you visited our city. You’ve published some pictures of important and some of the most beautiful places here in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
Anyway, I got interested about you. May I know much about you? Like where do you live in, why did you come dhaka, do you still living in dhaka etc.
I’m interested on you just because I’m interested on foreigners.
Bye. I’m inviting you to take a visit on my blog. You may also call me at (+8801911911122) if you’re inside Bangladesh. Mails may also be sent at aminulislam333 [at] gmail [dot] com.
