Today we visited the Sri Siva Vishnu Temple in Maryland to get a preview of Hindu culture and religion. Bangladesh is about 15% Hindu, so we should see some temples in Bangladesh as well as lots, of course, on our (hopefully) frequent visits to India! Also, Bangladesh was primarily Hindu prior to the arrival of Muslims in the 13th century, so Islam in Bangladesh was influenced by Hindu practices and beliefs to a strong extent. All this to say that even though Bangladesh is now 84% Muslim, it is still interesting and worthwhile to check out the Hindu culture as well.
